It’s not only Cup Winners, but Rumours are what every Arsenal fan loves more than anything else, and that includes very last-minute winners, and this summer we may just be in need of just that in the form of Alexander Isak. The Gunners are said to be willing to break their transfer record to land the Newcastle United forward. Arteta and new sporting director Andrea Berta are in agreement with Arsenal going all in to secure their number one target.
This has been sensational performances from Isak this season. The Sweden international has 23 goals and five assists in all competitions, which screams that they should sign me up! Isak is the final piece Arsenal needs to clinch the Premier League title after narrowly missing out last season following heartbreak.
Why Isak Is Arteta’s Dream Striker
I’m being honest; Arsenal’s current striker options, at present aren’t chalking runs on the score sheet. Gabriel Jesus is a bit of flair, not nearly enough goals. Eddie Nketiah racks up good returns, but Arteta his 25-goal per season predator. And enter Alexander Isak, who is fast, technical and as clinical as a surgeon on matchdays.
Isak has proved to be more than just a goal scorer since breaking English records to move to Newcastle. He can also drop deep, play link and make defenders reevaluate their career decisions. No wonder Arsenal’s camp has been in constant contact with his camp since last year.
Now the kicker is, nothing about the transfer fee and personal terms has been an issue. But if Newcastle fail to secure Champions League football, then Arsenal’s route to signing Isak is a whole lot easier.
How Arsenal Can Afford him
Andrea Berta is to blame if you’re wondering how Arsenal, a team that has always invested its cash with some degree of care, can afford Isak. The new sporting director at the club has already started brainstorming how to move without a Financial Fair Play meltdown.
But Arsenal had splashed £105 million about this time last summer to bring Declan Rice to the club. Isak’s price tag is expected to be in the same or even greater area this time. However, it’s an investment for a player who’s already shown himself at a Premier League level.
If Arsenal want to dethrone Manchester City, there can only be top signings. Big trophies require big moves.
