Bruno Fernandes singles out two influences on key part of his playing style, Man Utd star is ‘always having chats’ with …

Manchester United and Portugal midfielder Bruno Fernandes has revealed that he “learned” from one former teammate and still speaks “a lot” with one current teammate.

Bruno Fernandes is currently away on international duty with Portugal for his country’s Nations League campaign against Denmark in the March break.

Portugal will face Denmark in their first-leg Nations League quarter-final clash on Thursday at the Parken in Copenhagen, with kick-off slated for 7:45pm UK time.

Roberto Martinez’s men will then host Denmark on 23rd March at Sporting CP’s Jose Alvalade Stadium, with both sides vying for a place in the semi-finals.

Bruno Fernandes has been in a rich fun of form for Manchester United ahead of the start of the March international break with Portugal.

The 30-year-old Red Devils star scored a sensational hat-trick for United in the 4-1 win over Real Sociedad in the Europa League quarter-finals last Thursday evening.

Following United’s clash with Real Sociedad in the second-leg last-16 Europa League tie at Old Trafford, Fernandes stepped up again for Ruben Amorim’s men.

Fernandes picked up two assists and scored in United’s 3-0 win over Leicester City in the Premier League last Sunday at the King Power Stadium.

Man Utd star Bruno Fernandes reveals what he saw from Fabio Quagliarella at Sampdoria

Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes played for Italian sides Novara and Udinese early in his senior playing career before he moved to Sampdoria in 2016.

The Portugal international would leave Italian outfit Sampdoria in 2017 and Fernandes returned to his native homeland when he signed for Sporting CP.

Fernandes crossed paths with former Sampdoria forward Fabio Quagliarella and the 42-year-old retired footballer impacted how the United star would take penalties.

“Many of the penalty-takers, they have a side and they go there,” he told Inside United, as per Manchester United’s official website.

“They choose the side before, they go powerful and everything, and they still score.

“I don’t know, this was always something that I learned from [Fabio] Quagliarella, at the time I was in Sampdoria.

“He was always checking with the goalkeepers, what he should do, the way he kicked and everything because, obviously, he had a quick run-up and a very powerful shot.

“But he was always trying to understand the movements of the goalkeeper and everything and I got that from him.”

What Man Utd and Portugal legend Cristiano Ronaldo asks Bruno Fernandes about penalties

Bruno Fernandes has shared a close relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo for Portugal and the pair also played alongside one another for a brief time at Old Trafford.

The United midfielder has revealed that he still speaks to Cristiano Ronaldo about penalties and he will be asked for his thoughts on what to expect in the moment.

“I always want to learn,” Fernandes continued.

“I always want to learn with the best ones. When we go with the national team, I am always having chats with Cristiano [Ronaldo] to understand, also, the way he does it and we do speak a lot.

“He sometimes asks me what I think about the goalkeeper and everything.”

United will not return to action until 1st April when they travel to City Ground to face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, with kick-off slated for 8pm UK time.
