Ansu Fati turned down ‘more than four clubs’ in January

Ansu Fati was tipped to leave Barcelona on loan in January in order to try and find some regular game time after struggling for minutes under Hansi Flick.

However, the youngster opted not to move and remained determined he could earn a chance. So far in 2025, that simply hasn’t happened and he’s finding it difficult to even make the squad on matchday.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Fati didn’t lack for offers in the winter. The forward reportedly turned down more than four clubs in order to stay put.

Barcelona’s plan with Ansu Fati remains same as January, trying to find a new club in order to sell him.

Ansu rejected more than 4 approaches in January and he’ll have the final decision, but Barça remain open to letting him go.

Fati now faces spending the rest of the season on the bench ahead of a summer transfer window where he will likely be told to find a new club.

The 22-year-old has only played 158 minutes all season long and his camp have reportedly complained to Barcelona about his current predicament but it’s difficult to see it changing.

Barcelona will certainly be eager to offload him given his lack of minutes and, as Romano notes, his departure could allow the club to add another forward to the squad.
