Football correspondent David Lynch revealed that the remaining Liverpool fixtures will determine the future of Federico Chiesa under Arne Slot. Liverpool signed Chiesa in a bargain deal from Juventus during the summer as the only signing of the current season.

According to Lynch( via X), Chiesa has impressed the Liverpool staff with his attitude and Carabao Cup final cameo but his future depends on how much Slot will use him in the upcoming fixtures. He wrote:
“Liverpool sources talk of Federico Chiesa’s “immaculate” attitude in training, and he has looked dangerous whenever used this season. But if he continues to struggle for minutes across the next nine games, then it is hard to imagine him sticking around.”

Chiesa delivered a stellar performance in his 15-minute late cameo against Newcastle during the Carabao Cup final. The game was already beyond reach for the tired Reds with the 0-2 scoreline in the Magpies’ favour.
Chiesa scored the only Liverpool goal in the 94th minute of the game after linking up with Harvey Elliott. The Italian international provided what the rest of the regular attackers have failed in recent months, an outlet.

While the global Liverpool fanbase is usually divided, there is a strong consensus that Chiesa deserves more starting role in the upcoming games. The 27-year-old has done more in his 15-minute cameo than what Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz have done since the start of 2025.
