Bruno Guimaraes to Arsenal transfer talk fuelled by one-word message as feelings made clear

Bruno Guimaraes has been sent a message by Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes as the duo link up on international duty with Brazil.

The Newcastle midfielder is fresh from helping his side win the Carabao Cup but now his focus will be on two huge World Cup qualifiers against Colombia and Argentina.

The 27-year-old has been sensational since joining the Magpies and that has seen links to the Gunners and Manchester City emerge.

Newcastle's financial situation and the need to adhere to financial fair play rules makes it unclear whether or not he will remain at the club with Alexander Isak potentially in a similar predicament.

Following their recent success, the Magpies keeping hold of both now seems more likely than a double departure with Guimaraes having been clear on his future already.

"Look, my future, to be honest, is in God's hands," he told TNT Sports Brazil back in June 2024. "I have a contract with Newcastle, I'm very happy, as I said, I know how much they like me.

"I know everything I've been doing for the club. In short, I have a contract, I'm happy.

"I don't know what can happen, we know everything about Financial Fair Play, but what I can say is that I feel happy."

"'Obviously it's very nice to have your name linked with big clubs, it shows that I'm doing my job well, but I'm not worried about it at all. As I said, I'm happy at the club. I'm very happy, so let's see what happens.

"I'm not in any hurry, I'm happy, and it's up to God, let's see what happens. It was a good season, even though the club had a lot of injuries, a lot of suspensions, in short, I think it was a great season for me, one that will stay in my memory, and I hope to have more seasons like that."

One player that likely wants Guimaraes at Arsenal is Gabriel having played with him while in action for Brazil and it is clear he is a big fan of the midfielder.

On Instagram, in reply to Guimaraes post after joining up with the Brazil squad, he wrote: "Vamooooo [red heart emoji]."

That term is just a shortened version of 'vamos' which translates from Spanish to English as 'let's go' with it clear he is hyped up for two important games for Brazil.
