Ruben Amorim has admitted that Manchester United may have to sell players to fund any possible incomings in the summer transfer window, due to the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSRs).
While the summer window is still a few months away, it has not stopped speculation over who could be arriving at Old Trafford before the start of the 2025/26 Premier League campaign.

Any big signings may have to wait for outgoings to raise money, especially without the financial boost of European football next season. It has led to uncertainty over the future of several players.
Most recently, striker Rasmus Hojlund has been tipped to leave the club at the end of the season. The forward broke his barren run of games without a goal in the 3-0 win over Leicester City on Sunday evening.
According to Transfermarkt, Hojlund is currently valued at €45 million (£37.3m), which is down from a peak of €65 million (£54.4m) back in May.
Winger Alejandro Garnacho was heavily linked with a move away from United back in January, with Chelsea among those showing an interest. The Argentine has been in and out of the starting XI under Amorim, and the links could reignite again in the summer.
Like Hojlund, Garnacho is valued at €45 million (£37.3m), but that is again down from a peak of €50 million (£41.8m) back in December.
Another player who was linked with a move away from the club in January was midfielder Kobbie Mainoo. The academy graduate’s contract situation has led to uncertainty over his future.
Negotiations with Mainoo’s camp started around a year ago, but have since stalled. The midfielder does however have more than two years remaining on his deal with the option of an additional year.
Transfermarkt value him as the highest of the four players at €55 million (£46m), and he is currently at the highest value he has been so far in his career.
One player who is expected to leave at the end of the season is Jadon Sancho. The winger is currently on loan with Chelsea, he has however struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge.
The deal between United and Chelsea does include an obligation to buy with a minimum fee of £20 million. However, if the Blues decide not to make the deal permanent, they will have to pay a significant penalty fee to United with the club then able to move Sancho on themselves.
The former England man is currently valued at €30 million (£25.1m) by Transfermarkt, which is likely to be around the price that United will be looking for.
Should United decide to cash in on all four, and get a fee that is the same as their transfer values, then the club could raise a total of £145.7 million. That income could help the club fund some incoming deals before the start of the new season.
