Wolves are back in Premier League action once international duty is out of the way
Vitor Pereira was picked as Wolves’ manager earlier this winter after Gary O’Neil was sacked. He has managed the likes of Porto, Fenerbahce and Al Shabab in the past, among others, and has made a relatively positive impression so far.
His are currently sat in 17th place in the Premier League table as they look to preserve their status in the top flight. Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town currently occupy the bottom three and all look poised to return to the Championship after just a year.

The Midlands outfit are nine points above the drop zone following their win at Southampton last time out. They have nine fixtures left to play this season as they aim to get over the line.
Update emerges regarding Wolves favourite Jota’s Liverpool situation
According to a report by Football Insider, Liverpool are ‘reluctant’ to offer Jota a new deal this summer. TEAMtalk have recently claimed that Wolves are monitoring his situation at Anfield at the moment.
Jota, 28, was a hit during his spell at Molineux from 2017 to 2020 and luring him back would be a massive statement of intent if they were able to do so in the future. He initially joined them on loan before his switch was later made permanent.
The Portugal international, who has made 46 caps for his country, helped Wolves get promoted from the Football League under former head coach Nuno Espirito Santo in his first year. He scored 44 goals in 131 outings before he was snapped up by Liverpool.

Jota has since been a good servant to the Reds and has chipped in with 64 goals in 174 matches. However, his long-term future on Merseyside is up in the air right now with Arne Slot’s side said to be mulling over his situation.
If he were to be made available by his current club, the former FC Porto man is likely to be a man in-demand. That won’t stop those of a Wolves persuasion dreaming about an emotional reunion though.
Wolves latest update as Vitor Pereira’s side eye Premier League survival
Wolves won 2-1 away at Southampton in their last game in what was a valuable three points in their quest to avoid Championship football. Striker Jorgen Strand Larsen scored twice as they managed to hold on for a big victory.
Speaking after the victory, Pereira said: “It's a fantastic result for us. I suffered a little bit in the last 10 minutes because we had chances to score the third goal twice, and I believe with the third goal, we would have had more tranquillity to play, to keep the ball, to make the pace of the game with the ball, to control the game with the ball.

“But in this in this league, we cannot have a chance to score and after we concede the goal. We concede the counter transition and they score. After 30 seconds, the result was not three-zero, but two-one, and two-one is just one goal difference, and we needed to get these three points. It's normal that for a team it’s time to suffer, time to compact, time to not concede another goal and to get the three points, and we did well.”
He added: “We had, in my opinion, two big chances – if the last pass goes in the right player, because we have had a situation, just before they scored, I think we had four against two. In this kind of situations, we must score the third goal.”
