Fans of the Oklahoma City Thunder were rooting against the Los Angeles Lakers for a number of reasons.
But on Thursday, they’ll be even more committed to an LA loss.
As noted by NBA Communications, per Legion Hoops, the Thunder can clinch the No. 1 seed in the West if the Lakers lose to the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday.

The Thunder have sat atop the West for the entire season and currently hold a league-high 57-12 record.
The second-place team, the Houston Rockets, have a 45-25 record.
Meanwhile, the Lakers just climbed back to the third seed after their win over the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday, but they could slip down again in the days ahead if they lose.
The Bucks will be a tough opponent for the Lakers, especially since they will be without both LeBron James and Luka Doncic.
Plus, they just played on Wednesday, which means a lot of their team will be fatigued.
Therefore, Thunder fans assume their team will seal their fate on Thursday night.
Of course, just because they’re the top seed doesn’t mean they will win it all.
For example, they were No. 1 last season, and they weren’t able to reach the Finals.
But everyone can agree that things are different this year and the Thunder are bigger, better, and stronger.
They aren’t just seen as the most prominent team in the West, they are also viewed as legitimate championship contenders.
