ASHBURN, Va. – Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup has signed with the rival Washington Commanders after retiring prior to the 2024 NFL season.
Gallup, who last played for the Cowboys in 2023, signed with the Commanders on Tuesday, the team announced. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Gallup, 29, played six seasons with the Cowboys from 2018-2023. He was released by the Cowboys in March 2024 with three years and $45.55 million remaining on his contract.
Gallup then signed a one-year, $3 million contract with the Las Vegas Raiders in April, but retired one day before training camp began in July.

In joining Washington, Gallup will play for Commanders head coach Dan Quinn, who served as Dallas' defensive coordinator from 2021-23.
The former Colorado State standout was drafted by Dallas in third round of the 2018 NFL Draft. In his six seasons with the Cowboys, Gallup recorded 266 receptions for 3,744 yards and 21 touchdowns in 86 games played, including 67 starts.
