The 2025 NFL draft is right around the corner and it's during this period of time that Mel Kiper Jr.'s name starts trending heavily. Kiper is one of ESPN's NFL draft experts and becomes a go-to source for draft news and scouting reports leading up to and during the draft.
Over the years, the tandem of Todd McShay and Kiper have gone back-and-forth which each other over players and opinions.
While McShay has left ESPN and is now working on his own podcast, he is still one of the biggest names competing in the draft space.
OutKick recently released a clip of McShay talking with Dan Dakich where he revealed his biggest frustration with Kiper over the years.
Todd McShay wishes he could still combat Mel Kiper Jr. on television after Kiper Jr.'s EMPHATIC stamp of approval of Shedeur Sanders.
"My biggest frustration with Mel was he never planted a flag with a Quarterback... he never would have a stance that went against the grain..… pic.twitter.com/qqAQTfe6HF

"My biggest frustration with Mel was he never planted a flag with a quarterback. He never would have a stance that went against the grain.. this would've been a lot of fun," McShay said.
Many different comments came flooding in, some favoring Kiper and others McShay. It was symbolical of how the two draft experts have forged their own respective followings.
One comment read, "Kiper is a clown. Look up his picks over the yrs and you'll see outside of top 1-2 picks hes rarely correct, and he misses those top picks more than an 'expert' analyst should."
Another comment defended Kiper criticism, saying "I would disagree. He was the biggest Hype Man for Josh Allen his draft year, and many, including yourself throught Rosen, Darnold and Mayfield would have better careers."
"Mel said the other day that John Elway was the most talented prospect he ever evaluated, but then followed it up by saying Travis Hunter is his favorite prospect ever," another person commented.
Even though they don't work together anymore, McShay and Kiper are both actively breaking down the 2025 draft. The 2025 NFL draft will begin on April 24 and run through April 26.
