Microsoft and Nvidia have announced a partnership to improve AI by integrating Nvidia's Blackwell platform with Azure AI services.

This partnership brings some big changes. Azure AI Foundry, a tool for building AI applications, now includes Nvidia NIM. Think of NIM as a set of pre-packaged AI components that developers can quickly use to create AI programs without starting from scratch.

Microsoft has launched the Azure ND GB200 V6, a new virtual machine (VM) series that adds Nvidia's Blackwell architecture. This VM series has Nvidia Quantum InfiniBand networking and the Nvidia GB200 NVL72, a liquid-cooled supercomputer for high-performance AI workloads. It also integrates with existing VMs using Nvidia H100 and H200 GPUs.

In other words, Microsoft has introduced new high-powered computers in the cloud especially made for AI work. These machines use Nvidia's latest tech to process AI tasks much faster than before.

One of the most interesting additions is the integration of Nvidia's Llama Nemotron models. These are smart AI models that can reason and solve problems, making it possible for companies to create their own specialized AI assistants.

These improvements are already making a difference in the real world. Epic, a company that makes software for healthcare, is using this technology to improve patient care and make healthcare more efficient.
