As per a report published bySportsmole, Barcelona have entered the race to sign Lille midfielder Angel Gomes in the summer. Notably, the player will become a free agent by the end of the season as he isn’t keen on a contract renewal.

Angel Gomes came through Manchester United academy but his fortunes changed when he joined Lille in the summer of 2020. He hasmanaged to establish himself at the French club and alsoearn a recall to his national football team.
Gomes is having a decent season where he has netted two goals and provided an assist in 20 games. Heis averaging 0.5 shots, 0.9 key passes, and 0.3 dribbles per game (stats viawhoscored).
The English midfielder is versatileto don different roles in the middle of the park. He is comfortable on the ball and remains composed under pressure.He has great dribbling and passing abilities, making him a valuable player while going higher on the pitch.
Angel Gomes is wanted by many clubs
Barcelona have somewhere relied on free agents in recent seasons due to their financial crisis. Though the situation has improved, running behind more free agents won’t be a bad idea at all. Hence, their interest in Angel Gomes makes sense.
