Lakers Make Unfortunate Austin Reaves Announcement Before Bucks Game

The Los Angeles Lakers are winners of three straight and will look to continue this trend on Thursday against the Milwaukee Bucks. Thanks to their recent hot streak, the Lakers are back up to the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference and are just one game behind the Houston Rockets, who have won eight consecutive games.

Ahead of their game against the Bucks, the Lakers already made some notable announcements. LeBron James, who has missed nearly two weeks due to a groin injury, will not make his return on Thursday. Additionally, Luka Doncic has been ruled out for injury management on his sprained right ankle. The announcements do not stop there, however, as the team made an Austin Reaves decision that will also impact the game.

Now in his fourth season in the league, Reaves has developed into a reliable option for the Lakers. He is currently in the midst of a career year and has already started a career-high 61 games. However, Reaves will not suit up on Thursday as the Lakers have ruled him out due to a right ankle sprain.

Reaves has missed just six games all season, including just one in the calendar year. However, as the end of the season approaches, it is important for the Lakers to be as healthy as possible heading into the playoffs.

His next chance to suit up will be on Saturday when the Lakers take on the Chicago Bulls. That will be the final game of the Lakers' current homestand before they go on a four-game road trip.
