Ex-NBA Player Pitches Detroit Pistons to Add Surprise Superstar

It has been a great season thus far for the Detroit Pistons as they have been the surprise team in the NBA this year.

Of course, Detroit had struggled over the past few seasons as they continued their lengthy rebuild and finished with the NBA's worst record in the last two seasons.

This season though, the Pistons have completely turned things around as they currently sit sixth in the Eastern Conference standings with a 39-31 record and they also sit just one game back of the Indiana Pacers for fourth in the East.

Cade Cunningham has led the way for the Pistons as he is putting together the best season of his career and the rest of Detroit's roster has also played extremely well.

Their young core of Cunningham, Jaden Ivey and Jalen Duren along with their veterans of Malik Beasley and Tobias Harris have helped turn the franchise around as they look to make a deep playoff run this season.

While the Pistons would loke to make a deep playoff run, they may still be one superstar short of competing with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics at the top of the East.

Because of this, former NBA player Lou Williams recently gave his thoughts on why he would like to see the Pistons add Devin Booker from the Phoenix Suns in the offseason.

"I would love to see Devin Booker with the Pistons," Williams said on Thursday's episode of FanDuel's Run It Back." They need another scoring punch, they need a veteran that can be a one-two punch with Cade Cunningham."

Williams makes a solid point about the Pistons needing another elite scorer, and Booker would bring exactly that to the team alongside Cunningham in the backcourt.

Of course, the Suns have struggled this season and they are expected to make some major changes to their roster in the offseason, which could see them trade away Booker.

If Booker does become available in the offseason, expect the Pistons to show interest and they have more than enough assets to make a deal for him.
