The upcoming NFL Draft is setting up to be an interesting one for the Seattle Seahawks.
With five picks in the top 92, there’s a number of different directions the franchise can go to try and improve for 2025 and beyond.
Bump: What Seattle Seahawks gain and lose from swapping QBs, WRs
The offensive line remains as a clear area for the Seahawks to address in the draft. But after the trade of DK Metcalf, wide receiver has made its way on to that list, too. And there appears to be at least one target on the board for Seattle so far.
ESPN’s Brady Henderson reported Wednesday night that Seattle plans to host versatile TCU wide receiver Savion Williams for one of its 30 pre-draft visits.
That’s a name that has FOX football analyst and former NFL quarterback Brock Huard excited. He shared why during his Blue 88 segment Thursday on Seattle Sports’ Brock and Salk.
“I want this guy to be a Seahawk,” Huard said. “… He’s really dynamic. He’s the one guy this year in the Big 12 … where I’m watching tape and I’m like, ‘Who is this guy?’ He’s the one guy that I would get into production meetings and the D-coordinator would be like, ‘Oh, thank gosh I don’t have to deal with him again.’ He’s just a different cat.”
At 6 foot 4 and 222 pounds with a 4.48-second 40-yard dash time, Williams possess a unique blend of size and speed even for a receiver heading into the NFL. The former high school quarterback showed off his versatility this past season TCU, totaling 611 yards and six TDs on 60 receptions and 322 yards and six TDs on 51 carries. He also had a touchdown pass, run and reception in a game against Baylor.

Williams is seen as a developmental project. His size and speed project well, but his scouting report says he needs to refine his hands, ball skills and route running.
There’s belief he could make an immediate impact in the return game despite returning just 14 kicks (all during his true freshman season in 2020) in college, or in a limited role on offense.
Huard said he likes Williams as a potential third-rounder for Seattle. NFL.com’s Chad Reuter had Williams going four picks in front of the Seahawks’ first third-round pick (No. 82 overall) in his three-round mock draft.
“It’s kind of Cordarrelle Patterson. … Kind of a running back, kind of a receiver. But you know what else (Patterson) was? An unbelievable kick returner,” Huard said. “(Williams could impact) in that phase of the game, along with all the jet sweeps. Like if there’s a Deebo Samuel in this draft, it’s this guy. … I really, really like this guy on tape.”
