France [confirmed on their official social media channels](https://x.com/FrenchTeam/status/1902825334409412789) that Ibrahima Konaté (25) was substituted at half-time and replaced by Dayot Upamecano as the Liverpool centre-back had sustained a potential injury during the first half in Les Bleus’ UEFA Nations League match against Croatia.
In addition to the potential injury, the former RB Leipzig defender had a first half to forget as he struggled to nullify the threat created by Croatia. Konaté was at fault for a handball as a penalty was awarded against France. Mike Maignan saved his blushes as he was able to stop the penalty, but the night got worse for the centre-back as he was replaced at half time.
##### Unknown extent
The extent of any potential injury sustained by the Liverpool defender is unknown. The reason for replacing Konaté with his former teammate at RB Leipzig was described as a “knock”. Such wording may suggest that the 25-year-old has not suffered a serious injury if any at all.
