Cowboys’ DC Matt Eberflus makes three stops at SEC Pro Day workouts; Dallas sends trio of coaches to Oregon

With the NFL Combine in the books, draft prospects are now holding their Pro Day workouts across the country at their home colleges for a last-chance showcase in front of NFL scouts before the draft in late April.

Those Pro Day workouts are already in full swing, as the Dallas Cowboys have sent out various scouts and coaches on the road to get one final in-person glimpse of potential draft targets next month.

Defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus has been the coach sent out to the most Pro Day events, as he has made the rounds in the SEC, which is widely considered college football’s top conference.

According to multiple sources, Eberflus has made stops at Tennessee, Georgia and South Carolina. Here are the defensive prospects that Eberflus could be putting a close eye on at those schools:

Tennessee DE James Pearce Jr.

Tennessee DT Omarr Norman-Lott

Georgia DE Mykel Williams

Georgia LB Smael Mondon Jr.

Georgia LB Jalon Walker

Georgia S Malaki Starks

South Carolina DE Kyle Kennard

South Carolina DT T.J. Sanders

South Carolina DT Tonka Hemingway

South Carolina LB Demetrius Knight Jr.*

South Carolina S Nick Emmanwori

*Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reported that Eberflus had a meeting with Knight while he was in Columbia.

In addition to Eberflus’ travels, a trio of Dallas assistants were in attendance at Oregon’s Pro Day earlier this week. Wide receivers coach and former Oregon assistant Junior Adams, offensive line coach Conor Riley and defensive line coach Aaron Whitecotton were all in Eugene to see the numerous draft prospects for the Ducks. Draftable players at Oregon at those three positions include WR Tez Johnson, OT Ajani Cornelius, OT Josh Conerly Jr., DL Jordan Burch, DT Derrick Harmon and DT Jamaree Caldwell.

The Cowboys also had a representative in attendance for the individual Pro Day workout by Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan. Widely considered the top receiver in the draft, many mock drafts have had the Cowboys selecting the Southern California native at No. 12.

The Cowboys have also had representatives present at the following Pro Day workouts, among others:

Purdue, Stephen F. Austin, East Texas A&M, Wisconsin, Eastern Kentucky, Washington, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Rutgers, Buffalo, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Abilene Christian, Arkansas, Syracuse, Memphis, Big 12 Pro Days, Alabama, Arkansas State, Minnesota

Many big Pro Day workouts are still on the docket, as the Cowboys will make the rounds around the state of Texas next week for events at Texas, Texas A&M and SMU. Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty will be in action next Wednesday.
