The lore of Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley seems to keep growing even into the NFL offseason.
In his first season with the franchise, he helped guide the Eagles to a Super Bowl title, rushing for 2,005 yards and 13 touchdowns on 345 carries.
During an appearance on Carmelo Anthony's "7PM in Brooklyn" podcast, Eagles wideout DeVonta Smith praised his work ethic during training camp and described how Barkley would growling when he ran the ball.
"Saquon, he'd be over there growling," said Smith.
Podcast co-host Kazeem Famuyide interjected, "He growls?!"
"Yeah, like he in that mode," Smith replied. "When he go to growling, whole different animal now.

Smith went on to discuss how Barkley seemingly had two sides of his personality between training camp and when he'd get on the field in games.
"To me, Saquon, the best there is, man. The stuff I done seen him do. During training camp, you know I was watching him and I was like, 'Okay, he cold, man. He got it.'
"But then you watch him in the game, this (expletive) is different, man. I ain't never seen nothing like this."
Smith, the Eagles' first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, missed four games in 2024 but still posted great stats. He caught 68 passes for 833 yards and eight touchdowns.
