Knicks Reveal Exciting Jalen Brunson News Amid Extended Injury Absence

The New York Knicks have been without the services of Jalen Brunson over the past couple of weeks. The last time the two-time All-Star suited up for the Knicks was on Mar. 6 against the Los Angeles Lakers, which is also when Brunson sprained his right ankle.

Initial tests revealed that Brunson's ankle injury would cost him approximately two weeks, but NBA insider Shams Charania reported on Saturday that the 6-foot-2 point guard will remain sidelined for another 1-to-2 weeks.

Knicks fans, however, received some exciting news on Thursday night after head coach Tom Thibodeau provided an important update on his superstar's road to recovery.

While the veteran shot-caller remained non-committal as to Brunson's return date, Thibodeau did reveal that the 28-year-old is back on the court doing some shooting.

"The only thing I'd say is he's doing light shooting and he's out of the boot," Thibodeau said. "So steady progress. We'll see where it goes from there."

At this point, the team wants Brunson to focus on what he can control, which is his rehabilitation process.

"Whenever he's ready, he's ready," He's putting a lot into his rehab. … Hopefully, we get some games [before playoffs] where he works his way back into it."

The Knicks are in action on Thursday against the Charlotte Hornets. After that contest, they will have just 12 games remaining before the postseason starts.

The Knicks entered Thursday's matchup in Charlotte with a 43-25 record and currently have a strong hold on the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference.
