Manchester United have struggled with form in front of goal this season, with strikers Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee failing to find consistency throughout the current campaign.
Hojlund in particular has struggled, hitting a 20-game streak without any goal contributions, let alone hitting the back of the net himself.
As such there’s been a lot of concern around both his ability at Old Trafford, but also the club’s potential to sell him on for anything near the £62 million which saw him move from Atalanta in 2022.
Napoli are reportedly interested with the Red Devils capitalising on this by offering a swap-deal for Victor Osimhen who is out of favour and on loan with Galatasaray, grabbing attention from Europe’s elite thanks to his form.
However, the United striker has just handed his club a massive boost whilst on international duty with the Denmark squad.
Despite his poor run of form, Hojlund has joined his fellow United teammates Patrick Dorgu and Christian Eriksen in being called up for Denmark’s UEFA Nations League League A Quarter-Final matches against Portugal.
Tonight saw the first leg of the fixtures, with Denmark grabbing a 1-0 win, taking the advantage into the second round.
Thankfully for United, it was Rasmus Hojlund who stepped up and scored, grabbing his second goal in two games.

Rasmus Hojlund scores for Denmark
Hojlund connected with a pass from Andreas Skov Olsen, drilling the ball into the bottom right corner, beating Diogo Costa, much to the disappointment of his teammates Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot who were fielded for Portugal.
After the goal, Hojlund ran to the crowd, hitting Cristiano Ronaldo’s signature celebration in tribute to his idol who he shared the pitch with this evening and back in Old Trafford under Erik ten Hag.
This goal comes in quick succession after finally breaking his goal drought against Leicester in United’s 3-0 win and assisting Diogo Dalot as United beat Real Sociedad 4-1.
Now, with two goals in two games, Ruben Amorim will be hoping that the striker has got his shooting boots back on, especially as after the international break, United have two massive games against third place Nottingham Forest and Manchester City.
However, with Hojlund’s stock still strong across Italy thanks to his spell with Atalanta, making him a proven star in Serie A, any more goals he grabs here on out will only help a potential summer sale, should the club decide to part ways.
