Delta Air Lines is the world's largest airline in terms of revenue, and one of the largest in terms of fleet size and passengers carried. The airline operates a fleet of 987 aircraft, of which 170 are widebody jets. The airline operates out of nine major hubs in the United States, including Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International (ATL), John F. Kennedy International (JFK), Los Angeles International (LAX), LaGuardia (LGA), Boston Logan (BOS), Detroit Metropolitan (DTW), Minneapolis International (MSP), Salt Lake City (SLC), and Seattle Tacoma International (SEA).
The only Boeing-manufactured widebody type Delta Air Lines operates is the 767, with 39 examples of the 767-300ER and 21 of the larger 767-400ER. The average age of the 767-300ER is 28.6 years, whereas the -400ER fleet is going strong at 24.2 years. Only three of the airlines' nine hubs see its Boeing 767-400ER operations, including New York JFK, Atlanta, and Los Angeles. Data from Cirium, an aviation analytics company, shows that the other six hubs did not see Delta 767-400ER operations this month.

The carrier’s 767-400ER fleet is equipped with 238 seats in four cabin sections. According to AeroLOPA,
“Delta Air Lines operates twenty-one Boeing 767-400ER aircraft, configured 34J 20W 184M, including 28 Comfort+ seats in Economy, and located at rows 30 to 33. These are indicated in the seat plan with red accents. All aircraft are equipped with wifi which allows you to stay connected during your flight. In-flight entertainment is wirelessly streamed to individual seat back screens. All seats have individual USB-A sockets and access to a universal AC power socket.”

These flights offer 43,554 seats, accumulating nearly 186 million Available Seat Miles (ASMs). The top Delta 767-400ER destinations from ATL are London Heathrow (LHR) with 90 flights (21,420 seats), Munich (MUC) with 28 flights (6,664 seats), Madrid (MAD) with 24 flights (5,712 seats), and Milan (MXP) with 23 flights (5,474 seats).
Delta operates three daily flights between Atlanta and London Heathrow, all onboard the 767-400ER fleet, having a flight duration of eight hours and 15 minutes.

These flights offer 21,896 seats, accumulating nearly 54 million Available Seat Miles (ASMs). The top Delta 767-400ER destination from LAX is New York JFK Airport, with 89 flights (21,182 seats). Three of the seven daily flights from Los Angeles to JFK are operated on the carrier’s 767-400ER aircraft. The other daily flights are operated on the carrier’s 767-300ER aircraft. The regular flight takes five hours and 20 minutes to complete. Atlanta (ATL) sees a handful of flights from LAX on the 767-400ER type.
The other six hubs
LaGuardia (LGA), Boston Logan (BOS), Detroit Metropolitan (DTW), Minneapolis International (MSP), Salt Lake City (SLC), and Seattle Tacoma International (SEA) do not see any Boeing 767-400ER operations this month from Delta. While these airports are frequently connected to the other three hubs, Delta Air Lines operates other aircraft types.

For example, the airline offers approximately 90 flights from JFK and Seattle (SEA) this month, operated on the carrier’s Airbus A321neo aircraft. Similarly, up to nine daily flights between Atlanta (ATL) and Detroit (DTW) are operated on a combination of A321neo, Boeing 737-900, and 757-200s. Notably, none of the other aircraft on most of these routes offer the same capacity as the Boeing 767-400ERs.
