London’s Heathrow airport has been closed after a fire at a nearby electricity substation caused a mass power outage in west London.
London’s Heathrow Airport, Europe’s busiest, has been closed because of a fire at an electrical substation supplying power to the facility, the operators said.
“Heathrow is experiencing a significant power outage. To maintain the safety of our passengers and colleagues, Heathrow will be closed until 23:59 (2359 GMT) on March 21,” a statement on the airport’s website said.
