[AFC Bournemouth beat Moneyfields 2-1 at the Ringwood Community Hub on Wednesday night, to maintain their perfect league record and set up an opportunity to win the title at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday.](https://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/25022452.afc-bournemouth-beat-moneyfields-2-1-national-league/)
Goals from Chloe Gilroy and Ellie Strippel had given Cuss’s side a 2-0 lead, but a Brooke Garcia striker got Moneys back within reach of ending the Cherries’ 100 per cent win record.
And when the referee awarded a spot kick deep into added time, it appeared that run would come to an end.
But 19-year-old Foley stepped up to keep the penalty out, the Cherries holding on for the victory.
_(Image: Newsquest)_ Speaking to the Daily Echo after the game, Cuss said on the penalty save: “If it goes your way, it's a special moment for sure.
“But all our hearts dropped as soon as the ref has given the penalty in what I think was the 96th minute.
“We needed Erin to make an outstanding save and that was on top of the outstanding save that she made in the game as well.
“So, absolutely delighted for her that she's made that save and got that really special moment and keeps our run going and sets us up for one more that we need to try and win now to get to where we want to get to.
“But a really special moment at the end there for the penalty save.”
It was a tight game for much of the 90 minutes, with the Cherries unable to get away from their visitors, having beaten them 3-0 in the cup at the weekend.
_(Image: Richard Crease)_ Reflecting on the match, Cuss said: “We probably bruised them a little bit \[at the weekend\] and we expected them to come out and really fight.
“I think, full credit to them, they are a good side and they came here and they fought.
“I thought the first goal was great timing for us, but we didn't really get a foothold in the game from there and I didn't really feel that we were playing our very best in that first half, but we came in at 1-0.
“Then you get the second goal and you think you've got a little bit of a gap and they instantly reply at 2-1.
“You always feel that if it's 2-1, there’s going to be the edgy moments and I think there was a good eight minutes of injury time added on there as well. And then obviously the drama of the penalty in injury time.
_(Image: Richard Crease)_ “So it wasn't our most fluent performance, but it's another side of us that I've seen this season with us that when it gets a bit tough, we've got that fight, we've got that grit to stay in the game and get the result that we need.
“So I'm really delighted with that.”
Looking to Sunday, and the potential of winning the title in front of a big crowd at the Vitality Stadium, Cuss said: “We've talked a lot about we've enjoyed a fabulous season.
“We've got to enjoy the moments when they come along. Playing at the Vitality Stadium is special for us. We get to do it a couple of times a year.
“We expect the crowd to be around 6,000, which is just unbelievable support for the women's team and we're grateful for that support. So we love playing there.
“We're going to try and enjoy the occasion as we always do, but obviously we've got a prize on it at the end of it on this occasion.
_(Image: Richard Crease)_ “So, we've got to calm ourselves a little bit. We've got to get back into training on Friday, we'll have a little light session and compose ourselves and go again like we've done every week of the season so far, and try and be at our best come Sunday.”
The Cherries face Bristol Rovers at the Vitality Stadium at 2pm on Sunday, March 23.
