DeMar DeRozan Makes NBA History During Kings-Bulls

The Sacramento Kings are at home on Thursday night taking on the Chicago Bulls in a pivotal matchup for both sides.

Of course, the Kings entered Thursday's contest sitting ninth in the Western Conference standings and they are just three games ahead of the Phoenix Suns for the 10th seed.

For the Bulls, they sit ninth in the Eastern Conference standings and they are currently tied with the Miami Heat with the same record, so a loss would drop them to 10th.

Sacramento had a great start to the game but the Bulls made a massive comeback in the third quarter to take the lead heading into the fourth.

Of course, entering Thursday's game Kings star forward DeMar DeRozan had his sights set on NBA history as he needed to score just 17 points to reach 25,000 points for his career.

DeRozan was able to reach that number late in the third quarter as he knocked down a fadeaway midrange shot to reach 25,000 career points.

By reaching this feat, the veteran forward becomes just the 27th player in NBA history to score 25,000 career points and it was fitting that he did so on a midrange shot.

Of course, DeRozan has become arguably the best current midrange shooter in the NBA as he continues to look for the midrange shot despite the league not shooting a ton of them.

It was also fitting that DeRozan would accomplish the feat against his former team in the Bulls, who he played three seasons for before joining the Kings in the offseason.

This is a massive accomplishment for the star forward as he has carved out a Hall of Fame level career thus far.

DeRozan will now look to add to that total through the rest of his career as the 35-year-old looks to help the Kings make a late season push up the West standings.
