Paul Pogba urged against Man Utd return
Chris Waddle believes Paul Pogba shouldn't be considering returning to the Premier League amid links to a stunning Manchester United return.
Pogba can join a new club as a free agent after his 18-month doping ban ended earlier in March, but the former Tottenham Hotspur and England attacker has named Italy or France as more suitable destinations.
"It's a hard one. He's never really done it in England, has he, Paul? He came on the scene, and he looked the part and went to Italy," Waddle told 10bet.
"I think that sort of football suits him. It's a bit slower; it's not box-to-box, and it's more patient.
"Weather conditions sometimes dictate the pace abroad. The sun, the heat. I think he was more suited to that type of game rather than the hustle and bustle of England.
"For me, France, Marseille would be a good move, and obviously, the Italian league would be a good move for him. I think he's best suited to one of those two leagues."
Man Utd put eight players up for sale
Ruben Amorim is reportedly preparing to host a ruthless exodus at Old Trafford this summer as he moves to raise funds to reshape his squad.
According to Standard Sport, United are looking to boost the budget by selling Kobbie Mainoo, Casemiro, Antony and Marcus Rashford.
The Red Devils are also planning without Victor Lindelof, Christian Eriksen, Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton, who are all out of contract in July.
There could be even more sales on top of that, with Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia among the players also strongly expected to depart M16.
The report adds that Amorim has named Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham, the 19-year-old brother of Jude Bellingham, as one of his transfer targets.
United are set to address a range of positions across the goalkeeper department, the defence, midfield and attack.
Ex-Man City midfielder shortlisted
Amorim has also reportedly pinpointed Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha as a potential option to bolster his engine room.
The 24-year-old, who developed in Manchester City's academy, is an important player for Niko Kovac and the Bundesliga giants, who are enduring just as poor a season as United.
Bild claim that the Red Devils are chasing Nmecha in a £40million deal, and he could push to depart Dortmund if their situation doesn't improve before the summer.
Amorim will be keen for more midfield options, with Eriksen and Casemiro likely to leave and Mason Mount a regular tenant on the injury table.
Manuel Ugarte should be a mainstay next season, while Toby Collyer offers a squad option, and there are a number of academy midfielders on the cusp of a senior breakthrough.
But there will almost certainly be fresh blood at the heart of Amorim's team on the other side of the summer transfer window, and Nmecha is among the candidates.
