Ange Postecoglou will look to add strength in depth this summer after struggling with injuries this season.

Tottenham Hotspur will mean business in the summer transfer window after a thoroughly underwhelming 2024/25 season so far.

The chance to win Europa League silverware could salvage Ange Postecoglou’s second campaign in charge but even that won’t overshadow the need for investment in the upcoming window.

Postecoglou remains confident that the club can attract the world’s best talent. Speaking earlier this year, he said: "It depends what the players are looking for. You can look at it two ways. OK the league form is not great but there's some pretty big possibilities to have success here in the last three or four months [of the season].

"It's still a big club, it's still a club that can challenge for honours and it's whether the player sees the potential that we see right now, or certainly that I see. If it's too much of a hard sell, it's probably not the right one for us."

LondonWorld looks at what the dream Tottenham Hotspur XI could be next year if current transfer rumours come true.

Tottenham Hotspur sell defender to Real Madrid

Goalkeeper: Guglielmo Vicario

Defenders: Rayan Ait-Nouri, Micky Van de Ven, Marc Guehi, Djed Spence

Guglielmo Vicario has the quality to continue as the number one choice between the sticks for Tottenham Hotspur, he’ll just be hoping to avoid another lengthy lay-off like he had post ankle surgery this season. The whole backline has struggled for fitness this term, leaving Postecoglou often fielding a makeshift back four.

Football Insider reports that Cristian Romero ‘wants’ to join Real Madrid with the La Liga in the market for a centre-back. Spurs have been regularly linked with proven Crystal Palace man Marc Guehi who could come in but the club also has the obligation to buy loanee Kevin Danso.

Destiny Udogie has had his own injury problems this year but TeamTALK report that Spurs are preparing a £30m bid for Wolves man Rayan Ait-Nouri, who could be a more reliable option in that role. Djed Spence continues to impress.

Midfielders: Angel Gomes, James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski

There’s no doubting that Spurs have lacked bite in midfield at times this season. The signing of Angel Gomes from Lille would certainly help that with the England international somewhat of an engine room who could allow James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski to excel.

West Ham are also targeting Gomes, who is available as a free agent this summer, but reports this week suggested that the Hammers feared that it will be Tottenham Hotspur who win that transfer race with their own negotiations stuttering.

Spurs snap up AFC Bournemouth winger

Wingers: Son Heung-min, Antoine Semenyo

Striker: Dominic Solanke

There’s some talk about a potential Son Heung-min exit but letting the 32-year-old go would surely be an error from Spurs. Postecoglou needs consistency and senior figures in a squad that is increasingly reliant on young stars. Dominic Solanke cost £65 million last summer and has managed a respectable seven goals in an injury-ridden season.

TeamTALK reports that Spurs are readying a £33.5 million bid for AFC Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo. The 25-year-old would certainly add flair into Postecoglou’s side.
