Despite his critics, Kylian Mbappé (26) has been prolific for Real Madrid in his debut season, scoring 31 goals for _Los Blancos_ in all competitions. However, as he returned to the France side, he could not replicate that goalscoring form. He has not for quite some time.
Mbappé was absent from the last two international breaks. After a _“difficult”,_ in the Real Madrid forward’s words, September international break, he was left out by Didier Deschamps in October and November. The France manager insisted that it was the best decision for all parties, albeit a sub-optimal one, given Mbappé’s status as captain.
However, in recent times, Mbappé has struggled in _Bleu._ He once again drew a blank, in Split on Thursday night, as France lost 2-0 to Croatia in the UEFA Nations League. It means that the former Paris Saint-Germain forward has not scored in any of his last six games for _Les Bleus,_ whilst he has netted just two in his last 13.
