Jimmy Butler Makes Warriors History in Raptors Game

The Golden State Warriors continued their post-trade deadline surge with a 117-114 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Thursday night. Since Jimmy Butler arrived last month, Golden State has gone 16-2, propelling them to sixth place in the Western Conference as they push for an automatic playoff spot.

Butler has been thriving with the Warriors following his controversial midseason exit from the Miami Heat. The 35-year-old has seen a boost in his production, averaging 17.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 6.4 assists in the 18 games he has played so far (via StatMuse)

Against the Raptors, Butler delivered another all-around performance, finishing with 16 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists-his second triple-double as a Warrior.

With this feat, Butler made franchise history, becoming the fastest player in Warriors history to record multiple triple-doubles (via StatMamba). Butler's first triple-double came in the Warriors' 130-120 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on March 10, where he finished with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Butler also made a crucial defensive play on Thursday, icing the game with a clutch block.

Aside from Butler's standout performance, the Warriors got a big lift from Draymond Green, who led the team with 21 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. After the game, Butler sent a five-word message to his defensive-minded teammate.

"I can do that, too," Butler told Green, referencing his clutch block.

Stephen Curry added 17 points for Golden State, but exited early in the third quarter after landing awkwardly on his back-an injury the team will monitor closely.

With the win, Golden State improves to 41-29, taking another key step toward securing an automatic playoff spot. The Warriors will now turn their attention to Saturday night's matchup against the Atlanta Hawks.
