Liverpool accelerate move for €80m-rated Bundesliga playmaker on Manchester United radar

Liverpool will soon submit an enquiry to ask about the availability of Xavi Simons, with Bundesliga club RB Leipzig demanding €80 million to sell the Dutch playmaker.

According to a report by Caught Offside, Xavi Simons is the subject of interest from Liverpool. The Reds are scouring the market for a productive attacker heading into the summer transfer window and have set their sights on the RB Leipzig playmaker. They want to ramp up their efforts to sign the Dutch playmaker by enquiring about his availability.

The Dutchman is also a target for Manchester United, although the Red Devils might not have the funds to afford a summer move. Meanwhile, the Bundesliga giants want around €80 million to part ways with Simons in the summer transfer window.

Xavi Simons has established himself as one of the best players in the Bundesliga since joining RB Leipzig from Paris Saint-Germain. Les Parisiens re-signed the 21-year-old playmaker from PSV Eindhoven in July 2023 before immediately loaning him to the Bundesliga club. The youngster returned to the Red Bull Arena last summer before completing a permanent move this past winter.

The Dutch playmaker has turned out over 50 times thus far for RB Leipzig while chipping in with 18 goals and 19 assists. Meanwhile, Simons’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe. Premier League bigwigs, in particular, are keen on signing the Netherlands international, with Liverpool and Manchester United among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the summer transfer window.

Liverpool’s interest in Xavi Simons is understandable.
