Oklahoma City Thunder became the first team in the NBA this season to clinch the No. 1 seed in their conference.
Oklahoma City Thunder / Schedule
With the Los Angeles Lakers' 89-118 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, the Thunder have officially secured the top spot in the Western Conference, as the Lakers can no longer surpass them in the standings. Regardless of how the rest of the season plays out, OKC will finish as the West's No. 1 seed.
Remarkably, no other team in the conference has even clinched a playoff spot yet, making the Thunder's early achievement even more impressive.
Currently boasting a 57-12 record, the worst OKC can finish is 57-25. The second-seeded Houston Rockets could also end up at 57-25, but the Thunder hold the tiebreaker, ensuring they remain locked in at the top with no concerns for the rest of the regular season.
