Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker had to be substituted with 'suspected concussion' in Brazil's win over Colombia. The 32-year-old was forced off in the 78th minute after colliding with former Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez.

Brazil went on to win the match 2-1 thanks to a 99th-minute goal from Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior. Alisson's Liverpool team-mate Luis Diaz had brought the visitors level after Barcelona's Raphinha had opened the scoring.

And after the World Cup qualifier in Brasilia, Brazil's national team doctor, Rodrigo Lasmar, gave an update on the Reds No.1.

Per CNN Brazil, Lasmar said: "Becker suffered a trauma to the head region, he was replaced by a suspected concussion. Now we will do all the CBF protocol, it will undergo recommended imaging tests, a computed tomography, then a resonance with diffusion.

“If all the tests are normal, we’ll follow up and do a cognitive test. And then we will evaluate the player. In the possibility that everything is normal, we will make a sequence of observations in the coming days. Today, we will do the tests, all the necessary evaluations.

“Alisson is normal, with no complaints. He reported no fainting and no memory loss. He thought it was a little slower. In this complaint, the recommended is the replacement of the player.”

Brazil travel to Argentina on Wednesday (March 26). Liverpool do not return to action until the following week when they host Everton in the Merseyside derby (April 2).

Alisson was not the only player to give the Reds a scare. Ibrahima Konate was substituted at half-time of France's Nations League clash against Croatia on after suffering a knock, according to his national team's official X account.

Midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, meanwhile, has been forced to withdraw from the Netherlands squad with what Liverpool described as a 'fitness issue'.
