Leeds United are being linked with a move to re-sign Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City, but his wages appear to be an obstacle for any deal.
If Leeds are already looking to get ahead with and transfer groundwork for the summer, they will have to hope that Daniel Farke’s next eight games go to plan.
Links, meanwhile, aren’t in short supply claiming Leeds are looking at signings for the Premier League, though.

Reports have heavily linked Leeds with a sensational move to bring Kalvin Phillips back to Elland Road, almost three years since his £45million exit to Manchester City.
Currently at Ipswich Town, Phillips’ future remains up in the with Man City likely to still deem the midfielder surplus to requirements.
However, if Leeds are indeed considering a move to sign the England international, they’re going to need to overcome his significant wages.

Journalist Graeme Bailey has now claimed that a loan may be the way Leeds navigate that obstacle.
“I firmly believe Phillips will return to Leeds,” Bailey told LeedsUnited.news.
“A loan deal would be appealing to them and fit in with their budget – whether that was Premier League or Championship. I fully expect Leeds to get promoted but even if they didn’t I believe he will be at Elland Road next season.”
Leeds should probably avoid Phillips regardless
I’ve banged the drum a few times on this topic with Phillips, as good as it would be to see him back in a Leeds shirt at some point in his career.
He’s been on the decline since his exit to Man City and hasn’t really shown any signs that he’s back to his best or at least close to what he showed under Marcelo Bielsa.
Add to that the fact he’s missed a lot of football in the last three years through injury and you have a player likely not worth the money, especially if you take emotion out of the equation.
