Rasmus Hojlund is rediscovering his scoring touch at the perfect time.
The Manchester United striker netted the winner for Denmark against Portugal.
After ending his club goal drought against Leicester City, Hojlund made it two in two by scoring a crucial 78th-minute strike to secure a 1-0 win in the UEFA Nations League quarter-final first leg.
Ahead of the game, United teammate Diogo Dalot had jokingly urged him not to score – advice Hojlund completely ignored.
To add to the moment, the 21-year-old celebrated with Cristiano Ronaldo’s trademark ‘Siuuu’ while the Portugal legend was still on the pitch.
Danish press react to Rasmus Hojlund performance
Danish outlet Bold highlighted the significance of Hojlund’s goal, writing: “It was a jubilant scene that resembled one of the many we’ve seen from Cristiano Ronaldo over the years.”
The publication awarded him an 8/10 rating, noting that “he generally seemed very determined.”
Meanwhile, Tipsbladet praised Hojlund’s impact off the bench, stating: “He made the entire Park explode into a jubilant inferno when he decided the match with his goal against Diogo Costa.”
The outlet rated him 4/5, adding, “he can still do it,” while Christian Eriksen was given a 3/5.
Eriksen endured a frustrating night, missing a penalty – Denmark’s first in over three years.
That was before seeing another effort cleared off the line by Dalot.

Bold noted his frustration, writing: “Eriksen throws up his arms in despair.
“Because it was a half where he should have scored twice, but ended up not getting on the scoreboard.”
Denmark now take a narrow lead into the second leg in Portugal this Sunday.
Hojlund is hitting form just when his country needs him most.
United fans and Ruben Amorim will certainly be hoping the striker can come back to Manchester in good spirits.
Hojlund has struggled to perform at United overall, with links appearing of a move away.
However things may finally start to change for the better, should Hojlund become settled at club and international level.
