Exclusive: How Everton have reacted as Manchester United make fresh Jarrad Branthwaite push

Everton are expected to receive some serious interest over the summer for star defender Jarrad Branthwaite.

A number of Everton players are set to depart Merseyside over the coming months at the end of their contracts.

David Moyes was unable to really add to his squad over the January transfer window due to the PSR worries.

The summer transfer window is expected to be a busy one for Everton, with the Friedkins ready to provide their 61-year-old manager with financial backing.

One thing that is certain is Everton will be keen to build their defence around Branthwaite for the years to come.

With a big move on the horizon to Bramley-Moore Dock, TBR Football’s Chief Transfer Correspondent Graeme Bailey has shared the stance on Branthwaite’s future with Everton News.

Everton respond to Manchester United’s Jarrad Branthwaite interest

Manchester United have a serious interest in Branthwaite ahead of this summer’s transfer window.

Fresh reports are now suggesting the Red Devils are prepared to go all out in order to land the 23-year-old’s signature.

However, Bailey has insisted the Toffees will not be moved by United’s £50m valuation of Branthwaite.

“Everton are working on a new contract for Branthwaite. The hope is that he agrees to it sooner rather than later,” Bailey told Everton News.

“The Friedkins are not looking to sell Branthwaite, and £50 million will not be enough to get Branthwaite anyway – no chance.”

Branthwaite has suggested he’s keen to stay at Everton having admitted he’d love to captain the club at Bramley-Moore Dock.

With interest beginning to heat up ahead of the summer, the sooner Everton can tie the defender down to a new deal the better.

Jarrad Branthwaite has big aspirations for his future

Although the defender has admitted he’s keen to play at Everton’s new stadium, Branthwaite has also shared his desire to win trophies.

That is something Everton have not done for a seriously long time now.

Newcastle United’s Carabao Cup victory may provide the Toffees with a renewed confidence they can end their own drought under the Friedkins.

However, the 23-year-old will also be keen to break into the national side after Thomas Tuchel snubbed Branthwaite from his England squad.

Everton fans will just be hoping Branthwaite feels Everton is the club where he can go on to achieve his big aspirations.

Although the Toffees want to tie him down to a new contract, the Friedkins will not break Everton’s wage structure for Branthwaite and a potential new deal.
