Chelsea are unlikely to revive their interest in Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
Speaking on the Chelsea Central Playback channel, the GiveMeSport reporter said that the Nigerian international is not among the club’s top priorities heading into the next transfer window, citing his £250,000 a week salary as a potential issue. Needless to say, plenty of supporters on X are not happy that the Blues have opted against pursuing Osimhen:
Pay him Chelsea

Osimhen’s move to Stamford Bridge last year collapsed due to personal terms
It should not be forgotten that Chelsea were in talks to sign the 26-year-old from Napoli back in August but no agreement could be reached because of his wage demands.
The Blues prefer to put players on low salaries and long contracts, and Osimhen simply doesn’t fit into that strategy.
Chelsea are looking at alternatives
RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko and Ipswich’s Liam Delap are thought to be higher up the list than Osimhen when it comes to striker targets.
Sesko does have a release clause worth €80m (£67m) in his contract but he is also attracting interest from Arsenal and Manchester United.
Delap is unlikely to cost as much, especially if Ipswich are relegated, but the 22-year-old is expected to be in high demand as well.
