Rangers takeover by 49ers Enterprises could be in jeopardy after recent events at Ibrox.
The American consortium which is led by Leeds United chief Paraag Marathe and ParetoHealth chairman Andrew Cavenagh has agreed a deal in principle to buy a controlling stake in the Govan club.
The deal is now set to go through legal hurdles before it is completed, but the Ibrox club have been warned that developments involving supporters could scupper the deal.

Rangers fan actions could scupper 49ers Enterprises takeover
Before the Europa League victory against Fenerbahce on penalties, the Union Bears ultra group unfurled a banner which has led to uproar from elsewhere.
The banner read “Keep woke foreign ideologies out. Defend Europe.”

The move provoked official backlash from Rangers, who condemned the actions in a strong statement that made it clear that they will not allow discrimination.
It could also have an impact on the impending takeover, as Cavenagh was in attendance at the contest and the 49ers group are known to promote equality.
Asked on PLZ Soccer (19 March) whether the actions could make the new investors think twice, journalist Alison McConnell said: “I think there is no doubt about that.”
Pundit Gordon Parks had earlier said: “Do you think there is a fear there that if you are investing in Rangers and you do your investigating, and you see the baggage that currently exists, could that deter the investment?”

Rangers statement should reassure 49ers Enterprises
The fact that the Gers released a statement condemning the actions so strongly, shows that they are committed to a club that welcomes all people and does not allow discrimination.
The actions of a select group of fans that are stuck in the past with their ideals should not affect the takeover as it is a business deal and there are always going to be some bad eggs that will need to be weeded out.

Rangers have had a crazy week.
If it gets to that point, then the issue will be dealt with by the Americans, and the club will continue to work towards an accepting audience rather than one that discriminates.
The new owners will want to rid the Gers of those who cause issues with their unwelcome and frankly disgusting views and the use of pyrotechnics, with the club feeling the cost of UEFA and SFA sanctions.
The new era is just around the corner at Ibrox and the actions a few supporters will not derail it.
