Liverpool preparing jaw-dropping £100m offer for “most talented” player at Euro giants – report

Liverpool are reportedly preparing a £100m offer for Real Madrid attacker Rodrygo, with the Brazilian seen as a possible replacement for Mohamed Salah.

The future of Salah has been one of the big talking points at Anfield this season, with the 32-year-old still not signing a new deal at the club.

Should the Liverpool legend depart at the end of the season, which remains to be seen, it will be imperative to replace him with an equally elite player.

According to a report from Spain, Rodrygo has emerged as a leading option for the Reds on the right wing, with the Premier League leaders contemplating a huge £100m bid.

He would be seen as a successor to Salah, although the update does point out that he is currently happy at Madrid and isn’t entertaining a move away.

Rodrygo the perfect Salah replacement for Liverpool?

While it is still preferable for Salah to stay, signing Rodrygo in his place would be a major statement of intent by Liverpool, given his status as a world-class attacking player.

In fact, he is such a top-level footballer that Madrid teammate Jude Bellingham has even called him the “most talented” player in the star-studded squad, saying:

“Rodryo is very underrated. To me he is the most talented and gifted player on the team. The things Rodrygo does with the ball. I’m like, ‘How does he do that?’ My ankles would buckle.”

That is a huge compliment, considering Rodrygo is playing alongside the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Vincius Jr and Bellingham himself, among others.

This season, the Brazil international has 13 goals and registered seven assists across all competitions, and at 24, he is still a maturing player with other gears to find.

Hopefully, this will all become inconsequential anyway, with Salah signing a new deal at Liverpool, but if Rodrygo did suddenly feel unwanted at Madrid, the Reds could be the perfect destination for him.

There may even be some who would be happy to trade Salah for him now, considering he is eight years the Egyptian’s junior, but the brilliance of Liverpool’s legendary No.11 may only be truly appreciated when he has gone.
