Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Carlos Miguel is constantly “being evaluated” by Brazilian outfit Cruzerio, it has been claimed.
Earlier this week, a report from the 26-year-old’s homeland suggested an “approach” had been made by Cruzerio to Miguel. His representatives were said to have been contacted with a view to understanding his situation at the City Ground.
Since signing for the Reds from Corinthians last summer he has been back-up to No.1 Matz Sels and has had limited opportunities. Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has deployed Miguel in cup competitions, meaning he has managed just three appearances so far.
According to GOAL, Cruzerio are continuing to keep tabs on Miguel. However, it seems they would only consider signing him on one condition.
Although he “appeals for the future” and is being evaluated by the club’s board “for the next transfer windows”, it appears a move is not imminent. GOAL report Miguel would only be considered if other keepers leave or suffer injury problems. At present, the club already have three stoppers on the books and they seemingly have no intention of overseeing “new acquisitions or loan signings” without good cause.
Earlier this week, RTI Esporte suggested Miguel also has admirers in Europe amid his future Trentside being uncertain. Nevertheless, it was stated he is “happy” being at Forest.
Miguel has been out of action since February, when he sustained a hamstring injury against Exeter City in the FA Cup. He was replaced by Sels on the hour as Forest went on to progress to the next round courtesy of a penalty shootout.
Since then, Wayne Hennessey has been back-up to Sels on the bench. But rather than turn to the Welshman against Ipswich Town in the fifth round of the cup, Nuno stuck with his first-choice stopper between the posts.

Miguel is under contract with the Reds until 2028. Forest also have Matt Turner on the books, with the American spending the season on loan at Crystal Palace.
