On March 21, commencing at 5:50 p.m. for approximately 15 minutes, Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Chief Cabinet Secretary, received a courtesy call from Mr. Wang Yi, Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China, who is visiting Japan to attend the Japan-China-ROK Trilateral Foreign Ministers’ Meeting. The overview is as follows.
Both sides exchanged views on overall Japan-China relations. Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi raised specific issues of concern between Japan and China, and emphasized the need to achieve results so that the citizens of both countries can feel that “it is good that Japan-China relations are progressing”
In addition, Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi asked for understanding and cooperation for the immediate resolution of the abductions issue.
