Newcastle United defender Dan Burn could make his England debut against Albania at Wembley tonight.
Newcastle United trio Dan Burn, Anthony Gordon and Tino Livramento have been named in England’s 23-man matchday squad to face Albania this evening (kick-off 7:45pm).
The Three Lions play the first of two World Cup qualifiers at Wembley, with Albania first up and Latvia next on Monday. New boss Thomas Tuchel called up 26 players for the two matches but has left three out of the opening game tonight.
As revealed by BBC Sport, they are Southampton’s Aaron Ramsdale, Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White and Liverpool’s Jarell Quansah. Uefa rules state that a manager can only select 23 players in his squad for a fixture.

The dream is on for Dan Burn
From being called up to England and scoring at Wembley to help end Newcastle’s 70-year wait for a domestic trophy, it’s been a mad week for Blyth-born Burn. Now the 32-year-old is hoping to go one step further by making his international duty.
"I'm not just coming here to be a cheerleader and help the boys out, I want to play,” Burn said. "I feel like I’m a leader on and off the pitch and I feel as though fit into that role.
“I know it's going to be tough with all of these international players here and I feel like I've been doubted a lot over my career. There's not a lot of people at Darlington who would say I'd be sat here doing a press conference for England.
"I've waited a long time for this opportunity and I didn't want to spoil it. He [Tuchel] said I've been playing well for a long time.
“I feel being in that first camp is important. It means I am there, but I don't want to be there for no reason. I want to be there because I have proved [I should] be there.
"Every little kid's dream is to play in a World Cup. I’d never played any international football, and I did think it had passed us by at 32. But when the new manager came in, it was that feeling of 'you never know'."
