The former Leeds United boss who has just upset Weston McKennie and Tyler Adams

Weston McKennie and Tyler Adams weren’t exactly covered in glory during their time at Leeds United.

It was a peculiar time for the USA internationals to sign for Leeds with both joining as part of Jesse Marsch’s project at the club.

A project which ultimately failed as the pair each only spent one season at Elland Road and Marsch was sacked in 2022/23.

As both were certainly out of their comfort zone with the Whites, McKennie didn’t enjoy living in Leeds proving it was never going to work out.

He and Adams seemed to just have each other, but what’s just happened regarding a former Leeds manager has left them shocked.

Thomas Christiansen shocks former Leeds United duo Weston McKennie and Tyler Adams

It’s probably a name Leeds fans haven’t heard for a while but Thomas Christiansen is back on the scene.

Christiansen took charge of the Whites during the 2017/18 season but the Danish-Spanish coach didn’t endure a good time.

The former Leeds boss struggled and was sacked in the same season, as Christiansen suggested the Leeds sacking was unfair.

Nevertheless, Christiansen has come on leaps and bounds since then and has proven so with a shocking victory.

Now managing Panama, Christiansen’s side shockingly knocked out Mauricio Pochettino’s USA side which included a midfield of McKennie and Adams.

Panama won 1-0 in the CONCACAF Nations League sending shockwaves throughout North and Central America, and it will have no doubt left McKennie and Adams seething.

Adams feels like he let McKennie down at Leeds United

It wasn’t a good tenure for the duo as previously established, but both players seemed like they came as a package.

Obviously, both were really good friends so it seemed like the dream scenario when Adams and McKennie had the chance to play with each other, but this proved to be wrong.

After a shaky start to the season, Adams suffered an injury and after convincing his USA teammate to make the loan move to Yorkshire, Adams felt he let McKennie down at Leeds.

Marsch’s plan didn’t go to plan, and it’s unlikely either player will step foot in Leeds again.
