Ayden Heaven sends message to Man Utd team-mate after receiving injury verdict

Manchester United centre-back Ayden Heaven took to social media to share a message to teammate Rasmus Hojlund, just a matter of days after he sustained an injury against Leicester City.

The teen sensation was in visible discomfort in the opening stages second half of last Sunday's match, where the Red Devils were maintaining a slender 1-0 lead courtesy of a Hojlund opener. Heaven then attempted a seemingly routine interception and took an awkward fall.

Heaven was then stretched off of the pitch, with Toby Collyer coming on as his substitute. The January signing from Arsenal, who has been in formidable form for Ruben Amorim's squad, now faces a spell on the sidelines, with Express Sport discovering the extent of the damage.

Heaven has now reached out to goal-scorer Hojlund online to respond to his celebratory Instagram post after breaking a 21-game scoring blank.

"Yeah okay, might say I enjoyed that one," declared Hojlund, to which Heaven warmly replied: "Deserved," accompanied by a red love heart emoji.

Beyond Heaven's misfortune, United's 3-0 triumph against Leicester saw Alejandro Garnacho end his own 24-match run without finding the back of the net. Manager Amorim has since commended both players for their character and determination in bouncing back.

"It's really important for him," said Amorim, reflecting on Hojlund's first goal since December 12. "He's doing the right things, he's helping the team, he's fighting for every ball and today he scored a very good goal; very important goal, especially at that moment in the game. I think he deserved that goal more than anybody."

Regarding Garnacho, Amorim added: "He was really happy (to score), but the most important thing is the way he's improving his game.

"He's playing both sides, not just on the left. He's sprinting back. These small things he's doing quite well, and when you do the small things in that manner the good things are going to show, and he also deserved a goal today."
