TOKYO/NEW YORK/BEIJING -- Tensions between China and Canada are rising once again with the execution of Canadian citizens and new tariffs, deepening a rift stemming from Canada's 2018 detention of a Huawei Technologies executive.
Reports emerged Wednesday that four dual Canadian-Chinese citizens were executed in China over drug charges. "We strongly condemn" the executions, Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly told reporters.
