West Ham Have‘Rejected The Chance’To Sign£30M Rated Forward Who Arsenal Wanted In January

West Ham have turned down the opportunity to buy Brentford forward Yoane Wissa, according to reports.

The 28-year-old is closing in on the final twelve months of his contract and the Bees are said to be willing to part ways with the player for between £25m and £30m.

However, Claret & Hugh claim that the Hammers have “rejected the chance” to sign Wissa, with head coach Graham Potter having decided that he is not the right profile for his squad.

The former Brighton and Chelsea boss is said to be looking to reduce the age of the team, and Wissa is not the type of signing he is looking for.

Wissa has been in excellent form this season

The Democratic Republic of Congo international has found the back of the net 15 times in all competitions for Brentford, which is 7 more than West Ham’s current top scorer, Jarrod Bowen.

Considering that the Irons have struggled to find a No.9 who can score goals on a consistent basis, you would thought that Wissa would have come under serious consideration.

During the January transfer window, The Telegraph reported that both Nottingham Forest and Arsenal weighed up moves to snap up the striker.

Who will West Ham look to sign instead?

Lille’s Jonathan David would be the top candidate, with the London club having invited his agent to watch the game against Newcastle earlier this month, but the Canadian international has plenty of other suitors who want to sign him on a free.

Fiorentina’s Moise Kean has been named as another option in recent days, while there have also been links to the likes of Roma’s Tammy Abraham, Strasbourg’s Emanuel Emegha, Ipswich’s Liam Delap and Mainz’s Jonathan Burkardt.
