It has been a very strange few months for Newcastle United-owned defender Lloyd Kelly.
Kelly joined Newcastle United on a free transfer from Bournemouth but barely featured under Eddie Howe before being farmed out on loan to Italian giants Juventus.
While that would surely be considered a big move, Kelly has struggled at Juve.
It has not been the easiest of starts for the 26-year-old with the Turin giants, adding to the complicated nature of the campaign.
From a star at Bournemouth to an understudy at Newcastle and now a struggling player at one of the biggest clubs in the world, it’s certainly been an eventful few months in Kelly’s career.
Indeed, things could be about to get even stranger after Newcastle won the Carabao Cup.

Newcastle face Lloyd Kelly Carabao Cup medal decision
According to the Daily Mail, Kelly is in line to get a medal after Newcastle beat Liverpool 2-1 at Wembley to win the Carabao Cup final.
That’s because the winning team are handed 30 medals from the Football League and must decide how best to hand them out.

Newcastle only used 24 players during their whole campaign, while Matt Targett and Sean Neave were unused substitutes during the Wembley final.
As such, it means both Kelly and Miguel Almiron are in line to get their medals.
Kelly played in the third and fourth-round wins over Wimbledon and Chelsea respectively, while making a 25-minute cameo in the first leg of the semi-final victory against Arsenal.
One Newcastle star gets Carabao Cup final medal without ever playing
Neave, the aforementioned, young striker is already technically one of the most decorated Newcastle forwards in the modern era.
Neave was handed a Carabao Cup winners’ medal despite never playing for Newcastle’s first-team due to the fact he was an unused substitute at Wembley. The same can be said for back-up defender Targett.
Fellow academy graduate Lewis Miley was also pictured with one even though he played in only two minutes of the campaign.
With that in mind, perhaps Kelly and Almiron are both within their rights to want a medal, having appeared more often than the names listed above.
