Report: Man Utd open talks to sign'one of the best'talents in England, Jason Wilcox rates him very highly

Manchester United’s summer plans have already taken a hit due to Geovany Quenda joining Chelsea.

It was the transfer which United looked nailed on to complete this summer, with the teenage Sporting CP star the perfect fit for Ruben Amorim’s system, suiting the right wing-back position perfectly.

Geovany Quenda was known to the head coach, being one of 27 academy graduates under Amorim at Sporting. However, this has not resulted in a reunification of the two in Manchester for a variety of reasons.

Quenda agreed personal terms with United, however, it was during talks with Sporting that the stumbling block arrived. Chelsea were willing to let Sporting keep Quenda until 2026, which United could not agree to as he would have been an immediate starter.

There is also the belief that Manchester United would have used Quenda as a wing-back, while he saw himself as a winger in the future, which is what Chelsea offered him.

Now, alternatives are being reviewed by Ineos.

Manchester United open talks to sign Tyler Dibling

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed United want to sign a new number 10, however with wing-backs also needed, signing a player who can play both would be the smart move.

Tyler Dibling ticks this box with the Southampton youngster now becoming a top target for United.

According to Give Me Sport, United have now opened talks to sign Dibling from Southampton this summer ahead of what is expected to be a busy summer.

Southampton are thought to be playing hardball with their valuation of the 19-year-old, although their position is set to be weakened with impending relegation to the Championship.

United will only progress with a deal in the event the finances make sense, considering the perilous financial situation the club finds itself in.

Competition for Dibling will be steep for United as Florian Plettenberg revealed that half of Europe wants to sign him.

Jason Wilcox a big fan of Tyler Dibling

United have long been tracking Dibling this season, with his big breakout performance against United earlier this season at St. Marys’ leaving Diogo Dalot looking lost.

Since then, United have had scouts watching Dibling numerous times as he continues to be the crown jewel of the relegation-bound Southampton side.

In November, then-Saints boss Russell Martin admitted that Jason Wilcox was an admirer of Dibling and so it would make sense with the technical director now the main man at the club in terms of recruitment, that he’d be the main target.

Dibling is seen to be “one of the best” talents in the country, which Romano claimed was the stance from clubs on the teenager, so he will move this summer, the only thing left is to see where.
