Brett Pitman is on the move again after he sealed a switch to non-league Dorchester Town.
The former Pompey favourite has found the latest home in a goal-laden career, which has seen him appear for 10 different clubs over the past 20-plus years.
The 37-year-old has penned a deal until the end of the season with the Southern League premier division side after departing AFC Portchester for a second time, bringing an end to his four-month stint at the OnSite Group Stadium.
Pitman’s final act for Gavin Spurway’s Wessex League outfit came in Saturday’s 2-0 triumph over Millbrook, with the prolific goalscorer converting a penalty in added time.
Now the Magpies will be keen to make the most of the striker’s eye for goal, with Pitman set to make his debut in their game against Marlow at The Avenue on Saturday. Tom Killick’s men currently sit fifth in the table and occupy the final play-off position in the seventh tier of English football.
Speaking after Pitman’s arrival, the Dorchester boss told the club website: ‘I'm really excited to be able to bring Brett to the club.
‘Everyone knows that our promotion hopes rest on these last few games of the season, so as far as I'm concerned it makes perfect sense to bring someone of his calibre in, in terms of what I believe he's still got to offer on the pitch as well as the mentality that he brings with it.
‘I think overall he's just going to be a significant help to us, and as I've said I'm really excited to bring him to the club.’

Brett Pitman’s incredible career continues
The move to the Magpies will be the fourth club Pitman has represent this term season, after starting the campaign in spectacular form with Baffins Milton Rovers and Shaftesbury.
Dorchester will be hoping the experienced operator can play a vital role in their promotion hopes, with Killick’s men winning just one of their previous five league games.
But who better to call upon than the former Bournemouth, Ipswich and Bristol City man, who totalled 194 goals in 611 first-class league and cup appearances.
Pitman, of course, flourished for Pompey for the majority of his three-year spell at Fratton Park, which included 25 goals in his maiden campaign with Kenny Jackett’s men in 2017-18.
He followed that up with 13 goals during the 2018-19 season, before his final campaign at Pompey saw him drop down the pecking order as he registered just four goals in 16 appearances.
Pitman left the Blues on a free transfer in 2020, joining Swindon after 42 goals in 99 Pompey outings.
