Rasmus Hojlund may be back amongst the goals but Manchester United will still plan to sign a new striker in the summer.
It has been a turbulent campaign for Manchester United with a strong likelihood of missing out on Champions League football for a second consecutive year.
The only way United can qualify for Europe’s most prestigious competition is by winning the Europa League outright. That will be Ruben Amorim’s ultimate objective for the remainder of the season after reaching the quarter-final phase.
Before the March international break, Amorim’s side put seven goals past Real Sociedad and Leicester City in two matches. There were signs of improvement as Rasmus Hojlund ended a 21-match run without a goal.
But that doesn’t change the fact goals have been a problem for United’s first-team this season.
Hojlund will hope to build on his recent run of three goal contributions in as many games for club and country.

Manchester United in active negotiations over Jonathan David
Lille striker Jonathan David is expected to make a move this summer when his current deal at the French club expires.
Reports from January suggested that United are interested in signing David, but it sounds like the Reds will face stiff competition for his signature.
More United News
The latest from French outlet Le 10 Sport is that Manchester United are among a trio of Premier League clubs to have the strongest interest in David. Arsenal and Tottenham are also thought to be keen on a swoop for the soon-to-be free agent.

Jonathan David record 2024/25 season
David is not the only Lille player who is being strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer.
Former United academy graduate, Angel Gomes, will leave the club at the end of the season and reports suggest a return to his former club could be on the cards.
David reveals dream move
David is clearly leaning towards a move away from Lille, even though no decision has been made yet. It remains to be seen which sporting and financial projects will win over his heart.
The Canada international commented on his future during an interview with Gary Neville on the latest episode of It’s Called Soccer.
David has made it known that Spain is his priority destination, which means the La Liga could prove to be the biggest hurdle facing clubs trying to sign the Ligue 1 goalscorer.
“To be honest, I think I can adapt to every league,” said David.
“Obviously, every league has their differences; I think the Premier League is a lot faster and more physical than the other leagues. But, me, always when I grew up, I grew up watching a lot of La Liga.
“That would be my preferred league, but I think that’s the league I enjoyed watching the most, so I think – one day – I would like to play there but will that happen? I don’t know.
“I’m not opposed to anything, we’ll just see where the future takes us.”
Interestingly, the latest report from France has no mention of any Spanish clubs. That suggests that the three Premier League clubs are leading the race to sign David.
