Report: D.K. Metcalf contract details with the Pittsburgh Steelers revealed

When the Steelers traded for former Seahawks wide receiver D.K. Metcalf, the team signed him to a five-year, $150 million deal. Pro Football Talk reported the details of the deal late March 20:

D.K. Metcalf contract details

Signing bonus : $30 million.

2025 base salary: $5 million, fully guaranteed.

2026 base salary: $25 million, fully guaranteed.

2027 base salary: $20 million, guaranteed for injury. (Offseason roster bonus: $6.5 million).

2028 base salary: $23 million. (Offseason roster bonus: $5 million).

2029 base salary: $30.5 million. (Offseason roster bonus: $5 million).

Based on those numbers, Metcalf’s year-by-year cap hit should be $11 million in 2025, $31 million in 2026, $32.5 million in 2027, $34 million in 2028, and $41.5 million in 2029.

The lack of guarantees past 2027 gives the Steelers a possible out of the deal after the third year.

The extension drops Metcalf’s cap hit from an estimated $18 million to $11 million in 2025, freeing up some more space for the Steelers this year.
