"Incredible Move": Ex Man Utd Tips Liverpool To Swap Salah And Nunez For Premier League Pair

Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen has said that Liverpool should replace Mo Salah and Darwin Nunez with a pair of Premier League stars.

Everything is going well regarding the Premier League for Liverpool this season, as they entered the international break with a 12 point lead at the top of the table over Arsenal.

Arne Slot looks set to win the league title with the Reds in his first season, something that some of the greatest Premier League managers of all time couldn’t manage.

However, at the end of the season, Slot will have the dilemma of what to do with Mo Salah, who still hasn’t signed a new contract at Anfield despite being in line for the Ballon d’Or this season.

He has scored 32 goals and provided 22 assists this season in 43 appearances for Liverpool, but is set to become a free agent in the summer. If he does leave, the Reds will need to find a replacement.

Owen tips Liverpool to sign Isak and Semenyo

Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen has said that despite Salah being irreplaceable, the Reds should sign Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.

Owen also thinks that striker Darwin Nunez will leave at the end of the season, meaning that they may need to sign two new attackers to replace the pair.

He told OLBG.com: “I think if he was to go [Mo Salah], Liverpool would look to replace him or find another attacking player, probably because I think Darwin Nunez will probably go as well.

“There’s lots of alternatives out there but no one can replace Mo Salah. There’s no one out there that is gonna get his numbers.

“There’s been a few rumours lately about different players; Alexander Isak, obviously, at Newcastle who scored against them the other day, that would just be an incredible move if Liverpool could get him, but I’m sure virtually every team wants him and I’m sure Newcastle are desperate to keep hold of him, so that would be an interesting one.

“I like Antoine Semenyo at Bournemouth, who plays in the same position as Salah. I like him, a younger version, but definitely got energy, scoring capabilities and a good player.”

The Reds could face competition for Isak

The Reds have been strongly linked to signing the Newcastle United striker, however, they aren’t the only Premier League side wanting to sign him.

Arsenal are in need of a striker, and are reportedly very keen to make the Sweden international a Gunner n the summer transfer window.

Newcastle will likely refuse to sell Isak, or if they do allow a transfer, his asking price is expected to be well above £100 million.
